Funding Accounts

NSF FastLane Account

FastLane is a website developed by the National Science Foundation to facilitate the exchange of information and transactions between NSF and the research community.

NIH eRA Commons Account

The eRA Commons is an online interface created by the National Institutes of Health where researchers can access and share information relating to research grants.
To obtain access to eRA Commons, send an email request to Janet Boyles and provide the following information:

  • Name (first, last and middle initial)
  • Email address

OSU Technology Development Center

The Technology Development Center at Oklahoma State University assists faculty and staff members, administrators, and students with intellectual property issues resulting from their scholarly and creative activities. It exists to foster the creation of innovative technologies and to manage those technologies and other intellectual property for the benefit of the University and the public. In doing so, TDC supports the third part of OSU’s threefold mission: 1) teaching, 2) research and scholarly activity, and 3) outreach.

OnPAR

The Online Partnership to Accelerate Research is an NIH application review portal co-created by the NIH and Leidos, a defense, engineering and health contractor. OnPAR allows researchers to submit unsuccessful NIH applications (ranked in the 30th percentile) to an online portal for small business or nonprofit funders to review and potentially fund. While OnPar is still in its pilot stages, it looks to be a promising source for second-chance funding, particularly for younger researchers. Earning funding from a smaller organization may allow a researcher to begin their proposed project or to strengthen their science and gain experience, potentially making them more competitive should they choose to reapply to NIH or another larger federal agency.

Developing Your Scholarly Presence

SciENcv

SciENcv (Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae) is an online researcher profile system used to consolidate researchers’ professional information for use in federal funding applications. SciENcv pulls data from other systems and acts as a personal repository, allowing users to edit and consolidate their professional and academic information. Researchers can then create biosketches that can be included with any application package, rather than having to re-enter their information each time they apply for an award.

ResearchGate

ResearchGate is a social networking platform that allows academic, corporate and individual researchers to share publications, interact and collaborate with other scholars, view citations and other statistics, and more. ResearchGate accounts are free, and the interface functions much like other professional social networking sites. In addition to being a collaboration tool, ResearchGate can help increase your scholarly visibility.
