Grant Writers Bootcamp and Workshops

Grant writer’s boot camp. This training is designed to facilitate faculty in the development of a solid, review-ready grant proposal. Participants will develop a network of cross-disciplinary colleagues who are also active in grant writing; learn about grant writing approaches appropriate for different funding agencies; learn from established and successful grant investigators about the grant writing process and different types of grants and contracts; learn from college grant management professionals about how to develop and submit proposals; about and learn about how to gain input and reviews on proposal drafts.

  • The six-week boot camp provides an extensive overview along with assignments that enable participants to draft/complete a grant proposal that can then be submitted (depending on grant submission deadlines and requirements). Topic covered include:
    • The Proposal Process and Finding Funding
    • Starting the Process of Writing a Proposal
    • Designing the Project
    • Proposal Team
    • Proposal Narrative
    • Submission Process
  • Grant writing workshops. Additional grant writing workshops offer insights into specific topics associated with grant writing and grant-funded projects/programs. These may include, for example, sessions about how to develop particular sections of a grant proposal, developing proposals in particular disciplines, responding to special “request for proposals (RFPs)” from funding agencies, or grant funding for educational or outreach projects.
