Our goal is to provide you with the tools to assist you in maintaining your departmental, lab or personal site using the OmniUpdate template provided by OSU Brand Managment. The OmniUpdate template is built upon three types of objects: Modules, Snippets and Assets. With these assets, you can present your information dynamically without typing a single line of code.

To gain access to your department's web site in Omni, you will first need to view a training session from Brand Management. Once you have completed your training session, Brand Management will issue you an account so you can create, access, and maintain your site.

Brand Management Training

Online Omni training is a combination of a video and an exercise created by Brand Management. To request Online training access, contact Sarah Lyon with the following information (name, email address, and CWID) and they will set you up with a training folder and send you the information you will need to get training. Online training will demonstrate the use of the OmniUpdate CMS and the Patternlab Template, curerntly being used as the College's web Content Managment System for departments.

Patternlab training video (You will need to log into Ostate.tv in order to view it and you need to contact Kaitlin Little or Chance Parker to create a practice folder for you prior to watching it).

SNIPPET SHOWCASE

The Snippet Showcase is an online resource that shows the variety of Snippets available in Omni to add into a page and create the layout you would like for your content. During your training you will have seen many of the Snippets available, although not all of the current ones that are currently available. This document will provide you with the most current set of Snippets in the OU template.
