CAS FACULTY COUNCIL
Charters and Bylaws (Approved May 2023)
The Arts & Sciences Faculty Council consists of one elected member from each of the 22 departments in College of Arts & Science. Councilors are elected to serve a three-year term.
The A&S Faculty Council carries out the functions and responsibilities assigned to it by the College Faculty and Administration, insuring that channels of communication are established and maintained. The ASFC considers matters referred to it by the Dean, by the university Faculty Council, or by members of the College Faculty, as well as initiates studies of matters within the concern of the College Faculty and makes recommendations to the Dean, to the College Faculty, and to University Faculty Council.
The Faculty Council consists of 6 Standing Committees. A brief description of each committee’s responsibilities and members is provided on this site.
The A&S Faculty Council meets the first Wednesday of each month – September through May, and the Wednesday of the first week of classes in August. Agenda and minutes of each meeting can also be found on this site.
